OLD AND NEW
For our topic this 500 words is about old and new . For my understanding
, old is something already past , it was a long time a ago . New is something
is new in life or environment ,that people doesn't see before this . When I
heard about old and new is like Malaysia ice cream , the price only 20 sen. and
nowaday an ice cream really expensive like magnum, rm 4 .But now am not discuss
about ice cream , but ,let talk about old and new building . Base on my reader
, ENZO DIMATTEO , there have a few reasons why we should care about heritage
preservation.
Firstly
, Historic buildings are physical links
to our past. We've all heard that before. It's not just about saving bricks,
but about saving the layers and layers of information about our lives and those
of our ancestors. Without that, we'd erase the stories of our past, as if the
people who came before us never existed . For example , the Angkor Watt temple.
The temple was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century
. How diffulct they build the temple using the raw stone . They have cross the

left an impression to on the building itself and until now people appreciate it

Secondly ,
Historically significant buildings contribute to our city's cultural and
economic well-being - not to mention the vibrancy of street life. When
repurposed for modern-day use, like the Wychwood Barns redevelopment or 401
Richmond, older buildings are great incubators for entrepreneurship, innovation
and experimentation. For example,when we mention about Malaysia , the
significance is Muzium negara. Building its self give the significant for our
culture ,such as malaysia people either malay,chinese or india , they shake
hand when they’re meet up . While that,it also give a good feedback for economy
. They used the building for museum, people from outside can come and visit.
Lastly .
Heritage designations boost property values. Contrary to the conventional
wisdom that the designation ties the hands of owners interested in
redevelopment, a historical specification sets properties apart. For example
old Istana Negara at Malaysia . after they move to a new palace, they used the
palace for event or wedding . It's such a good think because they’re not let
the place empty ,but the cost for rent is so expensive , its because the
heritage property value
The conclusion is, we no need to
destroy the old building but what we can do is we should care about heritage
preservation . Is good to preservation from you just destroy it and you even
don’t know where to put the the materials demolished .Because now day Malaysia
they dont have a place to throw rubbish , you want still keep planting until
something bad will happen for our nature . So that,we need each other to
prevent such as a building .
